Tips for small size Icon design in Photoshop

// May 14th, 2007 // No Comments » // Adobe Photoshop

Here in this post i am going to give to some tips related to small size graphics design in photoshop.

First thing is that always use the square pixel in size, means the height and width of the canvas should be same.
You could use the large canvas size during the design like 200×200 pixels during designing process then resize it according to your need at the end.
Second important thing is that always use the higher dpi. I usually use 300.
If you are planning to design the icon with alpha channel means background should be transparent then use Transparent in the background options.
I would suggest not to use the Text on Icons but if its really necessary then always set the Anti-Aliasing option to None.

To Duplicate the Object in Photoshop on new layer

// May 11th, 2007 // 1 Comment » // Adobe Photoshop

To duplicate the object on a separate layer in photoshop select the move tool,press Alt button and drag the object to new location and leave the Alt

Second way is to select the move tool, Press the Alt button down and press left or right arrow to nudge the object to new location then leave the alt.

This is very useful when you want to create the copy of the object on a new layer.Or you want that that child object has same style as the parent object has.

Tell me if this post is useful to you or not leave a comment.

Thanks….

Avi Rendering Codecs

Microsoft MPEG-4

While this codec encodes AVIs, it is actually the ancestor of Microsoft’s current Windows Media codecs. After version three (which was not an AVI codec), the codec was renamed to Windows Media 7. Despite the fact that it is obsolete from a technical standpoint, the MS MPEG-4 v2 codec is still widely used because it encodes to AVIs, which are generally more convenient than Windows Media files (see the Windows Media section for more info). MS MPEG-4 v2 still gives very good quality and at very small sizes.

Quality: Very Good. While subsequent Windows Media codecs give better quality, the differences can be rather subtle, so the quality given by MS MPEG-4 v2 is usually more than adequate for most video sources. At very low bit rates (under 500 kbps) blockiness becomes very noticeable. (more…)

Which is Best Rendering Method?

// May 7th, 2007 // 3 Comments » // General

This post is specifically for the beginners in Multimedia field or 3D animations field. A big question in there mind is always that how to get good rendering quality like the animation they see in the big movies.

Today i am going to discuss the several solution about Rendering problems.The first rule in rendering is that NEVER EVER render the animation directly to video format means AVI or MOV.There are two main reasons for doing that, One is that during the avi or mov rendering if your PC shut downs because of power failure or any other reason your all animation is gone. Second reason is that during the rendering if you see the some of frames are not good means some lightening or other issues happen with meshes(commonly happens)Then you must cancel the rendering and previous frames which were good are not accessible or retrieved.Third problem is that some times one frame could take several minutes so you cant afford to render the whole animation at one go.And off course there could be several other problems as well.
